Before Sam and Terry Grenier started Deep Creek Stables in 2005, Sam 's family owned one of the original trail riding establishments in Ormond Beach, Florida (Volusia County.) Sam Grenier II, a third-generation horse trainer, is in charge of training horses and people to better understand the language of these amazing animals. Terry and daughter Madison are in charge of the lesson/trail rides through some 18,000 pristine acres of the Lake George /Dexter Mary Farm State forest, which surrounds their 120 acre working cattle ranch. They also take care of more than 10 head of their own horses and those privately boarded on the property.
Along with sons Garrett, Austin and Chad the family also wrangles Black Angus cattle, when they aren't introducing guests to the natural wonders of Old Florida--the old fashioned way-- on horseback. But nothing on the farm gets done without the expert help of their Australian shepherds, Hondo and Ari.
It's hard, 24/7 work, but for the Grenier family,"We are grateful to live on-site, do what we love and share with our guest a memorable and rewarding equine experience. Working with, and around, horses is what we do and have done for more than 50 years .”
Deep Creek Stables is located in central Florida, just a short drive from Orlando attractions, Daytona Beach, St. Augustine and the Space coast...but a world away from the stress and strains of modern day life.
If a lesson/ trail ride is what you're interested in ,simply sit back, grab the reins and be prepared to enjoy all nature has to offer. Want to learn more about a horse from the ground up and take control of the 5 body parts? Then try a lesson .
